Reopening Tennis

TENNIS COVID-19 POLICY
STAGE 5
EFFECTIVE MONDAY, JULY 6, 2020 
 
For the safety of members and staff members alike, the following key aspects have been implemented in order to minimize multiple persons from touching the same surfaces, assist with social distancing, etc.:
 
  • All tables and chairs, at the tennis observation deck, will be removed. 
  • 12 tennis courts will be available. 
  • Courts 1 & 2 will be restricted to private tennis lessons and the use of the tennis ball machine.
  • Private lessons and use of the tennis ball machine is restricted to one member per court.
  • Four (4) chairs will be placed at the on court comfort stations.
    • It is the member’s individual responsibility to not share chairs.
    • Members may choose to bring their own folding chair.  So not to damage the tennis court, your folding chair is to be placed on the concrete pad of the at the court comfort stations.
    • At all times, all chairs must be at least six feet apart from each other.
  • The overhead fans, at the on court comfort stations, will be disconnected until further notice.
  • The Fitness Tennis Aquatics beverage station and on court water fountains are unavailable until further notice.  It is important that you stay hydrated.  As such, we suggest that you bring your own beverages.
  • Towels (dry or iced) and sunscreen will not be available.  Please bring your own.
  • All trash receptacles will be removed from the tennis courts.  Trash receptacles will be available at the Tennis Observation Deck for you to throw your own trash away after your game.
    • When finished playing, please take away anything that you brought with you - do not leave any items behind. 
  • The FTA locker rooms are unavailable until further notice. 
  • Those members wanting to retrieve the content of their FTA lockers, please adhere to the following.
    • Call the Tennis Pro Shop at 561-737-8665 to coordinate a pick-up time from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily.  Your pick-up time will be confirmed within 72 hours of your call.
    • You will be required to remain outside of the Tennis Pro Shop when picking-up the content of your locker.  Upon your arrival to the Tennis Pro Shop, please call the Tennis Pro Shop attendant notifying them of your arrival.
    • When picking up, you will be expected to stand six feet away from the door.
  • The Tennis Pro Shop is unavailable until further notice with the exception of appointments to purchase merchandise.
    • Appointments for merchandise are available daily from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
    • Appointments will be limited to one hour.  A maximum of 3 appointments will be taken per hour.
    • Merchandise may not be tried on and may not be returned.
  • One unisex restroom at the Aquatics Tower (near the Serenity Pool) will be available for member use.
  • One unisex restroom at the rear tennis courts will be available for member use. 
  • When waiting for the restroom, members are required to be six feet apart.  Markings will be designated.
 
Tennis Court Times:
  • As usual, reservations will be required through the Chelsea court reservation system.  Usage of any tennis court is limited to 4 people for doubles and singles play.  More than 4 people are not permitted at any assigned tennis court at any time.
    • Reservation times for court availability will remain as they are now – 7:30 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 12:00 PM, etc.
  • No walk ups are allowed.
  • No guests are permitted until further notice. 
  • Private lessons and the use of the ball machine are permitted. 
    • To arrange for a private lesson please call the Tennis Pro Shop at 561-737-8665.  A minimum of 24 hour notice must be provided and reservations are available on a first-reserve first-serve basis. 
    • To arrange for the use of the ball machine please call the Tennis Pro Shop at 561-737-8665.  Reservations are available on a first-reserve first-serve basis and may be made on the day of use.  A second or more use of the ball machine is permitted provided the request is made on the day of use and available.
  • The Tennis Pro Shop is unavailable until further notice with the exception of appointments for merchandise. 
 
Arrival Logistics:
  • Please do not arrive more than 15 minutes earlier than your scheduled court time.
  • Except while playing tennis, all members must wear a facemask while on Club property.
  • Players are required to use the designated Tennis/Pickleball parking area.  Please refer to the site plan below.
 
 
To Request a Tennis Court Time:
  • Reservations must be made through the Chelsea system. Click here to access the Chelsea login page.  Until the Chelsea system is updated to include all Social members, Social members will be required to make their court time requests (after 12:30 PM) by calling the Tennis Pro Shop at 561-737-8665.
  • When you fill in your request you will be asked for your requested time as well as the earliest time and latest time you could play.  If, for example, your requested time is 9:00 AM and you set your earliest time and latest time to 9:00 AM, you lower your chances of receiving a court time.
  • You will receive an email from the Chelsea system indicating that a request was received.
 
Selection To Play:
  • Three days prior to play, you should receive an email from the Chelsea system with your assigned court time.
  • The email from the Chelsea System will identify the court number you are assigned.
  • Since the Tennis Pro Shop will be closed, with the exception of appointments for merchandise, it is important that you bring the court number with you when you arrive for play.
 
Racquet Stringing & Gripping:
  • For those members wishing to have their racquets re-strung or re-gripped, please adhere to the following.
    • Call the Tennis Pro Shop at 561-737-8665 to coordinate a racquet drop-off and pick-up time from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM daily.
    • Your racquet will be re-strung and/or re-gripped within 72 hours of it being dropped off.
    • You will be required to remain outside of the Tennis Shop when dropping off and picking-up your tennis racquet.  Upon your arrival to the Tennis Pro Shop, please call the Tennis Pro Shop attendant notifying them of your arrival to coordinate drop off and pick-up.  When dropping off, you will be expected to leave your racquet outside of the door and stand six feet away from the door and vice-versa upon pick-up.
